SRNLL Election Process
July Board of Directors Meeting:
- Board Secretary enlists Election Committee from the Board of Directors. Election Committee responsible for:
- Assisting Secretary with preparations for the Elections
- Reach out to the general membership, Identify and recruit Board of Director Candidates or Committee Members.
- Notification to SRNLL members of the Annual Meeting & Elections through League Information Officer
Note: A minimum of seven days notice must be given to the general membership.
August Board of Directors Meeting:
- SRN President and Secretary: Report update candidates and election process
- Collection of Nominations continues by the Secretary and Election Committee
- President plans agenda for Annual BOD meeting.
- President & Secretary collect nominations, responses resulting from the announcement of the Annual Meeting.
SRN Annual Meeting Election Day September 15, 2009
- President calls September regular Board Meeting to order and business of the regular September Board Meeting is transacted. Financial and Real property reports are given during this time to allow enough time for Elections during the Annual Meeting.
- Note: All SRN members are invited to attend the Annual Meeting. However, only current Board Members are allowed to make motions and vote during the regular September BOD meeting.
- Motions are made and passed to conclude the regular September Board of Directors Meeting.
- President announces the beginning of Annual Meeting.
Annual Board Meeting Begins
All SRNLL members are invited to attend the Annual Meeting. However, only Regular Members can vote in the General Election (Election of Board Members)
Regular Members: Any adult person actively interested in furthering the objectives of the Local League may become a Regular Member upon election. The secretary shall maintain the roll of membership to qualify voting members. Only Regular Members in good standing are eligible to vote at General Membership Meetings. All Officers, Board Members, Committee Members, Managers, Coaches, and other elected or appointed officials must be active Regular Members in good standing.
NOTE
Regular Members of the league automatically include all current Board Members, Committee Members, Managers and Coaches.
Annual Meeting Agenda (some changes may be made to accommodate President's Agenda)
- Secretary takes roll of Regular Membership & determines if a quorum is present
- Distributes copies of the Presidents Annual Meeting Agenda as needed.
- Nominations are taken from Election Committee then floor (those in attendance) for each Board Position beginning with President.
- Ballots are distributed for each position after nomination.
- Regular Members vote for Candidates by individual position.
- Ballots/Votes are gathered and counted by Secretary and Election Committee
- Regular Membership votes to accept election results for 2009-2010 Board of Directors.
- Motions are made to end the Annual Meeting
- Elections of Honorary & Sustaining members, positions that remain open are the responsibility of the incoming BOD.
